L.L. Cool J's Next Album to Feature Eminem, T.I., and Lots of 'Young Gunners'

LL Cool J hosts A VERY GRAMMY CHRISTMAS  to be broadcast on Dec. 5, 2014 on the CBS Television Network.

According to an interview with RapUpTV, LL Cool J's next album will feature guest verses from Eminem and T.I. The album, G.O.A.T. 2, does not currently have a release date.

LL Cool J is one of rap's seminal figures -- his early releases on Def Jam helped define a nascent genre. Recently though, the rapper has been known less for music than for acting -- on NCIS: Los Angeles -- and for hosting the last three Grammy ceremonies.

"I got a lot of young gunners on this album," he told RapUpTV. "People that are hungry and want to make the best music. It's about the beats and the bars and the rhymes. It's about being current and fresh and riveting -- not a bunch of old tired 95 nugget ring bullshit. It's newness." (Eminem and T.I. are hardly young, but maybe there are other guests on the project as well.)

The first volume of G.O.A.T. -- which stands for "Greatest Of All Time" -- came out in 2000. LL put out his last album, Authentic, in 2013.
