Exclusive: Queen Latifah to Host 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Concert

The annual Nobel Peace Prize concert has announced its host for the Dec. 11 ceremony in Oslo, Norway.

"I'm thrilled to be a part of this year's concert and to help celebrate such amazing individuals who have each worked so hard on behalf of children's rights to education," says Queen Latifah.

The host of The Queen Latifah Show and Grammy-winner is known for hits like "U.N.I.T.Y." and "Just Another Day..." and her Oscar-nominated role in Chicago. Earlier in 2014, she performed "America the Beautiful" at the Super Bowl and presided over 33 marriages while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Mary Lambert performed "Same Love" at the Grammy Awards. Her last album was 2009's Persona.

Mary J. Blige, James Blunt to Play Nobel Peace Prize Concert

The 2014 Nobel Prize Concert will honor Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai, chosen by the Norwegian Nobel Committee for "their struggle against the oppression of children and young people, and for the right of all children to education."

In its 21st year, the Nobel Peace Prize Concert is an annual musical celebration honoring each year’s Nobel laureates, broadcasted in up to 100 countries.

Last year's concert featured Mary J. Blige and James Blunt. In past years, the concert has hosted Paul McCartney, Rihanna, Sting, Santana, Alicia Keys, Willie Nelson, Bon Jovi and many others.
