Lil Twist Escapes Marijuana DUI Charges

Just over a year ago, Lil Twist was pulled over by police en route to his buddy Justin Bieber's house. Twist was allegedly found under the influence of marijuana and failed sobriety tests, though he managed to avoid a DUI charge.

According to TMZ, police officers were slow to act after pulling Twist over in Calabasas, CA in a 2012 Fisker Karma (which actually belonged to Bieber) July 11, 2013. Authorities waited an hour and 46 minutes before taking a blood sample -- by then the THC in his system was below the official impairment level.

More on Bieber & Twist:

Twist was pulled over for speeding through a 30 MPH zone and a whopping 69 miles per hour. The rapper had admitted to smoking (a lit blunt was seen in his car) and failed a sobriety test, unable to walk a straight line, touch his nose, or stand on one leg without swaying.

Despite these signs, the senior criminologist could not successfully argue  that Twist was too impaired to drive. Instead of a DUI, he walked away with a trio of tickets for speeding, running a red light and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Still, this is far from Lil Twist's first traffic incident. Back on Jan. 1, 2013, he was behind the wheel of Justin Bieber's Ferrari when a paparazzo tailing his vehicle was hit by another car and killed.

Lil Twist is currently signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment.
