Little Simz, 'E.D.G.E.': Exclusive EP Premiere

Little Simz

She's petite but Little Simz holds a lyrical punch. You can hear it in the aspiring U.K. rapper's debut EP, "E.D.G.E." (acronym for her motto, Every Day Gets Easier).

The 13-song EP comes after Simz' created buzz with four mixtapes, including "Blank Canvas."

"'E.D.G.E.' is that first showing of the transition, growth and progression in my art as this is my first original project soundscape-wise," she tells The Juice. "Everything was built from scratch and a majority of the tracks were recorded and mixed by me in my bedroom. I began recording 'E.D.G.E' at the end of the 'Blank Canvas' project, with 'Enter The Void' being the first song that I made. That shaped the tone of part of the EP's sonic and thematic journey."

Simz' recruited only close friends for this project, including Saint Heron artist, Iman Omari. Other featured guests and producers include Jimi Nxir, Sango, Jakwob, Balistiq, High Frequency, El Blanco Nino and Space Age (Josh Arce, Tilla, Chuck20)

"I've purposely kept the 'big name' features off this project and have only worked with my SPACE AGE crew and close associates," she says.

You can catch Simz' performing "E.D.G.E." tracks at upcoming shows and world festival appearances, kicking off with her live set at Shacklewell Arms in Dalston tonight (June 18).
