Kendrick Lamar's critically-acclaimed "good kid, m.A.A.d city" crosses the million copies sold mark thanks to the 9,000 units it moved this week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It has sold a total of 1,002,000 to date.
The album debuted at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (and at No. 2 on the Billboard 200) on the Nov. 10, 2012 charts, with 241,000 copies sold in its first week. It marked the second-highest opening for an R&B/Hip-Hop album in 2012 – only Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" bowed with a larger sum: 253,000 in April. By year's end, "good kid, m.A.A.d city" had already shifted 500,000.
