J. Cole Announces Sophomore Album, 'Born Sinner'

All Eyes on J. Cole as Debut Finally Arrives

J. Cole has announced the details of "Born Sinner," the follow-up to his 2011 debut "Cole World: The Sideline Story." The new album is due out Jan. 28, 2013.

The North Carolina rapper broke the news on Monday night (Nov. 5) during a UStream, and released the following teaser trailer for the album:

Although details of "Born Sinner" remain scarce, Cole told Billboard in October 2011 that he was already tracking his sophomore album, one month after the release of "Cole World." "I've got the foundation of songs that I'm gonna put on it already, so it's just a matter of taking these songs to the next level," said the rapper.

R&B star Melanie Fiona is also attached to the project, after telling Billboard last March that she and the MC had worked on material for his next project in Los Angeles.

The Roc Nation/Columbia rapper scored a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 when "Cole World: The Sideline Story" started with 218,000 copies sold in September 2011, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album has since spawned hit singles like "Work Out," "Can't Get Enough" and "Nobody's Perfect."
