Birdman Confirms Drake & Wayne Collaborative Album, Comments on 'Watch the Throne'

Drake and Lil Wayne show their support at the 2011 NBA All-Star Game at the Staples Center in LA on Sunday (Feb.20).

Are you enjoying Kanye West and Jay-Z's 'Watch the Throne'? Welp, Birdman wants you to save a bit of that excitement. Birdman says, yet again, that a Lil Wayne and Drake collaborative album is coming soon. "Wayne and I recently talked about [the Lil Wayne/Drake collaboration album]," Birdman told "That's definitely going to get done."

This isn't the first time YMCMB has confirmed the project. Last year (Nov. 10) Birdman told that the joint album is "very possible." "Because Wayne works a lot and Drake is out there with us too. They're gonna do a lot of recording together so I don't see why not."

Drake and Lil Wayne have both confirmed the collaborative album thereafter, "I went to Rikers and me and Wayne agreed there will be a Lil Wayne/ Drake album," Drake told MTV. "That would probably be one of the most exciting things in my life. We just make music on a whole different level... A whole album, to think of all the things we can do."

Drake Says The Weeknd Will Be on 'Take Care'

When will the Lil Wayne and Drake collaboration hit an iTunes page near you, you ask? In March, 2011, Lil Wayne told MTV to expect it "end of the year" if they "work hard at it."

Birdman continued to compare the sound of 'Watch the Throne' to what Lil Wayne and Drake's collabo would sound like. "It's older versus younger," Baby told XXL. "I listened to a few songs [off "Watch the Throne"] and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young. They young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So, it's two different types of music all the way across the board."
