J. Cole, the first artist signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation, will kick off MTV2's "Sucker Free Road to Release" on Wednesday (Sept. 14) with the video premiere of his single "Can't Get Enough" featuring Trey Songz.
The video will premiere at 10 p.m. ET/PT during the "Block Party" nighttime programming block and then across MTV, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, mtvU, MTV.com and MTV2.com on Sept. 15. The album will be released Sept. 27.
"J. Cole is the perfect first artist to kick off 'Sucker Free Road to Release'," said Amy Doyle, executive VP, Music and Talent, MTV & MTV2. "His album is one of the most anticipated releases of the year and fans are hungry for more access to him."
"Sucker Free Road to Release" will feature exclusive content covering "the hustle that happens behind the scenes," Doyle noted.
Cole has three hits on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop tally this week: "Work Out," "Trouble" (Bei Maejor featuring J. Cole) and "Only Wanna Give It To You" (Elle Varner featuring J. Cole).
Having notched eight singles on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, his first hit, "Who Dat," peaked at No. 32 in 2010. His only top 10 effort came on his featured turn on Miguel's "All I Want Is You," which topped out at No. 7 last year. Counting his featured turns on others singles, he has sold 797,000 song downloads according to Nielsen SoundScan.
