The Roots Release 'Tip the Scale' Video: Watch

The Roots' countdown to "Undun" continues with the video for "Tip the Scale."

The black-and-white video is the latest preview of the hip-hop mainstays' December-due concept album about a "kid who becomes criminal, but he wasn't born criminal."

"Tip the Scale" stays true to the theme: the gritty lyrics feature Black Thought rapping about "soldiers of the street with 8th grade diplomas" and "living life / like I'm some animal," while the video, set in November 1990, follows a protagonist walking through an inner-city neighborhood. It picks up where previous video "Make My" ended, with the story to continue: future videos will premiere at 12:06 p.m. on Tuesdays until the album's release.

The time mirrors the album's release date, with "Undun" due Dec. 6.
