Lil Wayne has taken a new artist under his wing. The latest signing to his Young Money label is 24-year old Chanel West Coast. Fans know Chanel as the host of MTV’s Ridiculousness and will soon be introduced to her rapping abilities.

Chanel recently celebrated the release of her debut mixtape, "Now You Know," in Los Angeles. The mixtape, which officially drops on July 2, features appearances by Honey Cocaine, Snoop Dogg, Robin Thicke, French Montana.

"I went very different on every song," Chanel told Billboard. "There are songs that are more dance, songs that are more trap beats, and some songs that are more dubstep. It’s a really a good blend of music." Though she primarily raps, Chanel says she will be singing on several of the tracks. "I don’t think people are expecting so it’s going to be pretty dope. I rap more but I also sing. I sing a lot of my hooks and I actually have two songs where I’m singing the whole entire time."

The newest Young Money addition plans to put out a full-length album shortly after her upcoming release. "I have so much music that I’ve made in the past two years. We already have so much music done and ready to go." Chanel added that she "lives in the studio" and plans to continuously crank out the tunes. "I always say that I want to be like 2Pac. If I were to die tomorrow, I want to know that I have enough music to put out for my fans for years to come."

Chanel touched on Lil Wayne as a boss, telling Billboard, "He gives you the freedom to do what you want and be creative and then he gives his official approval later on." She also reminisced on the day Wayne signed her earlier this year. "I went to Miami, played him my music, and I just remember him after my one song… I played him a track and he sat back and said, "Man that shit was stupid." I was like, ‘Yo. Wanye thought that shit was stupid.’ As soon as he said that, I knew I was in."

Chanel will join Lil Wayne, T.I. and 2 Chainz on their summer "America's Most Wanted" tour that kicks off on July 3. "Wayne brings out the Young Money artists when he performs. It’s cool that he’s so invested in us," says Chanel.
