Miguel Releases Kendrick Lamar-Assisted 'How Many Drinks?' Remix: Listen
After much teasing, Miguel releases the Kendrick Lamar-assisted remix to his "Kaleidoscope Dream" single, "How Many Drinks?"
The rapper comes in mid-way through with rhymes that revisit his hit, "Swimming Pools (Drank)" He also sneaks in a line from Busta Rhyme's feature on Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario," which he's done before ("ScHoolboy Q's "Rolling Stone").
"Kendrick is poised to be the next staple in hip-hop [and] I certainly intend on becoming that for R&B," Miguel told VIBE. "I just feel like he’s just being honest in his music. Newer, younger artists, that’s what we’re all striving to do. Just be ourselves. Kendrick is one of the best examples of that."
The singer is going to release three new EPs this summer. "This time it’ll be bigger and better," he continued. "I intend on having limited-edition apparel with them, so it’ll be really dope." The upcoming EPs will feature three tracks each.
Miguel is currently on tour with Alicia Keys and will be performing at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, airing live on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 19.
