Dessa, 'Warsaw': Exclusive Song Premiere

Hear the Doomtree rapper's first track from new album "Parts of Speech," due June 25

Dessa is heading to "Warsaw" for her third album. The dark, hard-stomping single leads the Doomtree MC's upcoming set, "Parts of Speech," and finds Dessa's rhymes turning in a new direction.

Hear "Warsaw" and see the "Parts of Speech" album art below:

"The "Warsaw" beat has a sinister, dystopian feel to it: mean snares, futuristic synths, verbed out chords. It's tough as hell," Dessa tells Billboard. "When Paper Tiger first sent it to me, I thought, 'This doesn't sound like anything I'd do. I want it.'"

Her usual narrative storytelling took on the beat's character, becoming "impressionistic" and full of imagery like "new shoes and a bullet-proof dress."

"I put the beat on repeat and drank my share of Jameson to get it done," Dessa says.

"Parts of Speech," her follow-up to 2011's "Castor, the Twin," is due June 25.
