The Seed: Pitbull, Big K.R.I.T., Kid Cudi and More

Pitbull performs at at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill on October 20, 2009 in New York City.

Welcome to the second installment of the Seed, the Juice’s weekly R&B /Hip-Hop round-up.
Making news this week was Pitbull with his “Welcome to Dade County” remix to Baauer’s Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Harlem Shake.” The Cuban party rapper takes aim at Lil Wayne on the track as retribution for Wayne’s NBA all-star weekend rant cursing the Miami Heat. The New Orleans rapper, who’s lived in Miami since hurricane Katrina, called into 99 Jamz to apologize to the city saying that his beef is with the Miami Heat specifically, not the city of Miami. Apparently, Pitbull was not satisfied with that defense.
Kid Cudi also returns with the latest single off of his upcoming “Indicud” due April 23. The track titled “Immortal” samples MGMT’s “Congratulations” and as Cudi explained on his Twitter, he “put it in reverse, sped it up, and produced over it,” for a very Cudi-esque sound.
