Seattle Rapper Freddy E Dead in Apparent Suicide
The King County medical examiner's office says Seattle hip-hop artist Freddy E has died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Seattle Times reports Frederick E. Buhl died Saturday in Renton, a small urban city about 10 miles south of Seattle. Buhl's father said in a post Facebook that his family was "saddened beyond words."
"Not only our family, but the world has lost a talented, sensitive, brilliant young man who lit up our existence with his," Douglass Buhl said.
The 22-year-old also was known for his edgy YouTube program "Jerk TV," which had thousands of subscribers and millions of video views.
Medical Examiner's Office investigator Nick Fletcher says suicide is the presumed cause of death, but an autopsy would be performed Monday.
On Saturday the rapper took to Twitter to write cryptic messages to his 100k-plus followers, saying "This barrel never felt so good next to my dome. It's cold & I'd rather die than live alone."
He also asked for forgiveness and told family members he loved them. The Twitter account remains active as of Monday afternoon.
