Rihanna turned heads as she arrived at Monday night's CFDA Fashion Awards, (barely) wearing an Adam Selman outfit made from Swarvoski crystals -- and not much else. Given that it was her big night, we would have expected no less from the CFDA Fashion Icon Award recipient.

During the ceremony, Anna Wintour gave a speech and presented the "Diamonds" singer with her award, but not without a touch of humor. Before the Vogue editor in chief stepped onstage, Vogue presented a video showing an imagined conversation via text between RiRi and the longtime editrix.

As one would imagine, the texts showcased their personalities quite precisely. When Rihanna sends an enthusiastic "HEY GIRLFRIEND!!!" text to Wintour, the editrix responds with a simple, emotionless "Hello." And when the pop star tries to strike up a conversation using only emojis, the Conde Nast artistic director writes back: "I think you sat on your phone." (Insert applauding emoji.)
