The Best and Worst Dressed Artists of the Week: Lana Del Rey and Florence Welch
At the close of the workweek, we have sorted through countless looks from Saturday (May 11) to today (May 17) and selected the best and worst dressed of the bunch. This week we honed in on the Cannes Film Festival and found the good and bad. Check out who is rocking killer threads and who needs to put their stylist on (permanent?) timeout this week.
Best: Lana Del Rey
Lana hit up the ‘The Great Gatsby” premiere at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival sporting a glamorous old Hollywood look. Del Rey channeled the glitz of the 1920s, rocking a detailed black-and-white embroidered gown complete with a sweetheart neckline by Austrian designer Lena Hoschek. The “Born to Die” singer accessorized her vintage look with glittering Chopard emerald earrings, retro waves, and bold cat eyes. Meow!
Worst: Florence Welch
Fashion diva, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine joined Lana at the Grand Théâtre Lumière to check out ‘The Great Gatsby,” also sporting a retro themed ensemble. However, Welch served up a vintage ensemble with a quirky flare. The singer had a fashion fumble on the red carpet, wearing a pink colored polka dot dress by Miu Miu and dismal yellow-and-black platforms also created by the Italian fashion house.
She styled her spotty look with a petite pink clutch and free flowing hair. Perhaps the look would have been less jarring if the dress was shorter and paired with simple black patent leather heels. Either way, we do appreciate her fashion risk taking.
