A major announcement Wednesday (Dec. 3) brought news that two of country music's most iconic acts will be teaming up once again -- and in doing so, reuniting one of the most beloved country duos of all time.

Country Music Hall of Fame member Reba McEntire has announced an upcoming residency of 12 shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting June 24, 2015. That would be news enough, but making the announcement more special is that her co-headliners will be Brooks & Dunn.

Reba McEntire to Receive First Ever NASH Icon Award

The performances will be the first for the veteran duo since they performed their final concert together at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in September 2010. Dunn hinted on his Facebook page recently that he and Brooks had been talking as of late, but didn't divulge any details. Among the duo's biggest hits are "Boot Scootin' Boogie," "My Maria" and "Play Something Country."

The two acts definitely have a history together, charting a No. 1 single in 1998 with "If You See Him/If You See Her" and a No. 2 peak a decade later with "Cowgirls Don't Cry." No word as to whether there will be a reunion on disc, but McEntire is finishing up her first album for the Nash Icon label, while Dunn appears to have signed there as well, though no official announcement from the label has been made yet.
