Country singer Vince Gill and Kristen Laviolette have been appointed to positions on the Nashville Predators Foundation's board of directors.
Gill, a County Music Hall of Famer, is a longtime Predators season-ticket holder. Laviolette is the wife of new Predators coach Peter Laviolette. Their appointment was announced Thursday through a team release.
The release also said Gill would join the Predators broadcast team for a select number of games this season.
At a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Ford Ice Center last month, Predators CEO Jeff Cogen announced a partnership between Gill and the Predators that would work to provide scholarship opportunities for children to participate in hockey and skating programs at the new facility.
Gill will receive an all-star tribute at November's 62nd annual BMI Country Awards when he is presented with the BMI Icon award. Over a 35-year career, the artist has sold 26 million albums and earned 20 Grammys.
In recent years, Gill has produced projects by acts such as LeAnn Rimes, Sonya Isaacs and Ashley Monroe. And in January he told The 615 he was working on a studio album with his daughter, Jenny.
