"Fuse" explodes by 101 percent to 5,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, adding Greatest Gainer stripes on Top Country Albums. (It's sold 336,000 overall since its release last fall). The new track, which opens at No. 50 on Hot Country Songs, is the fourth single from "Fuse." Current single "Cop Car" peaked at No. 4 on the March 29 Hot Country Songs list (and ranks at No. 7 this week). "Thing" sold 9,000 downloads during the tracking week ending May 4, roaring from a negligible amount the previous frame.
In a related story, Urban and Vince Gill led the backing band in the fifth annual "We're All for the Hall" concert May 6 in Nashville, which raised an estimated $600,000 with an all-star cast. The annual event benefits the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.
TOP TAN HIT: Jake Owen claims his first Hot Country Songs top 10 in almost a year, and his seventh overall, as "Beachin'" saunters 11-10. He'd last cracked the upper tier with "Anywhere With You," which peaked at No. 7 on the June 29, 2013 chart.
Owen first reached the region with "Startin' With Me," which rose to No. 6 in July 2007.
'PARTY' ON, LUKE: Top Country Albums is led for a third straight and 10th cumulative week by Luke Bryan's "Crash My Party," which sells 17,000 (down 13 percent) during the tracking week. Bryan's "Play It Again" holds for a fourth straight week atop Hot Country Songs, marking his fourth title to stay at least that long at the summit. As a featured act on Florida Georgia Line's "This Is How We Roll," he spent four weeks at No. 1 in March/April. He led for five weeks with "Drink a Beer" in January/February, while he logged his longest chart-topping run (12 weeks) with "That's My Kind of Night" last year.
The Georgia native keeps "Play" for a fifth straight week at No. 1 on Country Digital Songs (86,000 sold).
ON A 'ROLL': As Eric Church claims his fourth leader on the Nielsen BDS-driven Country Airplay tally, as "Give Me Back My Hometown," Justin Moore lands his third straight Country Airplay top 10, and his sixth overall, as "Lettin' the Night Roll" advances 11-10. Moore has topped Country Airplay three times, with "Small Town USA" (2009), "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away" (2010) and, most recently, with "Til My Last Day" (January 2013). He'd last reached the top 10 with "Point at You," which peaked at No. 2 in October.
