Update: A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day! has been postponed for 24 hours "due to technical difficulties and COVID-19 restrictions," organizers said in a news release. The concert will now take place on Saturday (Jan. 9) at 6 p.m. PT.

He's a starman waiting in the sky. A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day!, the concert event organized David Bowie's former pianist Mike Garson, is set to air on Saturday (Jan. 9).

The event was originally scheduled for Friday, but was postponed "due to technical difficulties and COVID-19 restrictions," organizers said in a news release. "We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to each of you attending the show."

To celebrate what would've been the rock icon's 74th birthday, a group of stars will perform during the virtual special, including Trent Reznor, Andra Day, Boy George, Taylor Momsen, Yungblud and Adam Lambert.

The special will stream exclusively for ticket-holders at 9:00 p.m. ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT on the Rolling Live Studios website. Ticket packages, bundles, merch and more are also still available on the site leading up to the show.

Other artists and famous faces set to appear during the concert include Gavin Rossdale, Macy Gray, Peter Frampton, Duran Duran, Atticus Ross, Lena Hall, Michael C. Hall, and supergroup Ground Control (made up of Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins and Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney).

The one-night-only experience will also feature Bowie's longtime producer Tony Visconti and members of his final touring band.

Bowie's final album, Blackstar, was released on his birthday in January 2016 — just two days before his tragic passing from liver cancer at the age of 69. The album, the rock icon's 25th, was the only LP of his career to top the Billboard 200 and would go on to win five awards at the 2017 Grammys, including best alternative music album, best rock performance and best rock song.
