Gerard Way took to Instagram on Sunday (Nov. 8) to share a cryptic, captionless photo of what appears to be a statue draped in darkness and light motion.

Fans, as expected, began buzzing over what the creepy-looking post could mean--and whether or not it's My Chemical Romance-related. The group, who performed a much-anticipated reunion show in December, was scheduled to tour this year before the coronavirus pandemic put the touring industry on pause.

The band has yet to reveal if the canceled reunion tour was meant to accompany new music. Their last studio album was 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys and their last U.S. tour came a year later.

A Reddit group in the MCR subreddit began dissecting Way's post in the last few days, recognizing the statue as one in his garden that he shared a while back.

"No one knows what it is," user RossTheDivorcer wrote. "It could be nothing, it could be something. Since nothing else is going on, this post will be stickied for a little bit. Like really, odds are that it’s just Gerard being artsy, but who knows! It’s fun to discuss."

"Why he need to torture us like that? sad sight," user MurkyAttic expressed. See the full Reddit thread here.
