Hot Motion, which was released on Sept. 27 via ATO Records, is a standout in the digital age of singles. The Kettering, England band’s latest effort is a record best consumed whole. Hot Motion is 45 minutes of a cohesive sonic kaleidoscope kicking off with the enthralling title track before launching into the singalong chorus of “You’re Either on Something” that states “you’re either on something or onto something.”
Temples' third album is more melodic than its predecessors -- 2017’s Volcano and 2014 debut Sun Structures -- which helped 2019’s trippiest band land the No. 42 spot on this week’s Emerging Artists chart. Their new LP debuted at No. 4 on Heatseekers Albums and No. 90 on Top Album Sales with 2,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen Music.
They've previously reached the charts with their two other albums Volcano and Sun Structures. Volcano reached No. 2 on Heatseekers, No. 41 on Top Rock Albums, No. 25 on Alternative Albums and No. 8 on Vinyl Albums on March 25, 2017. Sun Structures reached No. 163 on the Billboard 200, No. 44 on Top Rock Albums and No. 4 on Heatseekers Albums on March 1, 2014.

Outside Of the Music: “As a touring band, the wreckage you can leave behind after a show can be bewildering, so it's important to reduce your carbon footprint as much as possible. Walk whenever you can, avoid animal products, plastic bottles and wearing vintage clothing all helps the greater good. It's important to take care of the world and each other.”
What’s next: “We'll bring our new album Hot Motion to the people and to tour as many places as possible. We are thrilled to be touring the U.S. this October and January/February in 2020.”
