Daniel Johnston, the eclectic Austin-based singer-songwriter, died Tuesday night from a heart attack, and celebrities have been mourning his death on social media. Johnston was beloved by the likes of Kurt Cobain, who wore a Hi, How Are You tee at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards, and his music was covered by Beck, Death Cab for Cutie, Lana Del Rey and other stars.

Beck tweeted “RIP Daniel Johnston” on Wednesday (Sept. 11) with a link to his cover of Johnston’s song “True Love Will Find You in the End” from The Late Great Daniel Johnston: Discovered Covered, a two-disc set from 2004 that included a cover album by various artists. The album artwork morbidly glorifies the now-late artist as he stares down at his own tombstone with flowers, the years 1961-2004 etched into it as well as the description “sorry entertainer.”
