Tool fans come in all ages! On Thursday (Sept. 5), a story was shared to the band’s official subreddit revealing a 12-year-old Louisiana student got an excused note from his band teacher to miss class for a Tool concert.

“If there is, TOOL is a GOOD reason to miss it,” the tween’s teacher wrote to his father in an email. “My only response, take me with you guys!”

No word yet on whether the band teacher will actually be joining the family, but he followed up the joking request by asking the father’s opinion on the progressive metal band’s latest album, Fear Inoculum.

“I am super jealous that he will have that opportunity and I will not punish him for missing for TOOL,” the teacher concluded in the note. “How is he doing? Do you like their new album?”

Tool’s 2019 North American tour kicks off Oct. 13 at Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival. Tickets for the tour go on sale today (Sept. 6).
