Noel Gallagher has responded to a suggestion Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins recently made about trying to reunite Oasis through a fan petition.

Earlier this week, during the Foo Fighters' set at the U.K.'s Reading Festival, Hawkins decorated his drum kit with a photo of Noel and his estranged brother/Oasis bandmate Liam Gallagher. He then told the crowd, “One of these days, we’ll get Oasis back. One of these days," Spin reports. “Let’s sign a petition, everyone here.”

From behind the drum kit, Foos frontman Dave Grohl added, “How many people wanna see Oasis f---ing play a show?”

Noel Gallagher addressed the comments during his High Flying Birds concert in San Diego Wednesday (Aug. 29), assuring fans that there will not be an Oasis reunion anytime soon.

“Any Oasis fans in the house?” he asked the crowd, as shown in a fan-caught video. “Is anyone gonna sign that petition Dave Grohl wants to get together to get us back together? I’d like to start a petition to get the Foo Fighters to split up.”

The following day, Liam Gallagher tweeted a sarcastic idea for an Oasis-themed musical.

"Oasis the musical 5 lads from Manchester start a band and take on the world the little 1 who writes the songs turns into a massive cunt sacks everyone except his little brother as he ain’t got the arse splits up the band there’s a story line for ya THE END LG x," the tweet reads.
