The Strokes Debut New Song 'The Adults Are Talking' During Charity Gig: Watch
Good news for fans of The Strokes: the band is still in the new music business. Though the New York rockers are booked on a slew of summer festival dates without a fresh album to promote, they still managed to slip a new one into the lineup at a Monday night (May 13) charity show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles benefitting the homeless.
Though the lyrics are hard to make out in murky fan-posted videos, the song, "The Adults Are Talking," has all the hallmarks of a Strokes classic, from the chugging rhythm to singer Julian Casablancas' slurry, dreamy vocal delivery and a bright, new wave guitar line. The band is on the road all summer, playing All Points East Festival in London on May 25, Governor's Ball in New York on June 2, Lollapalooza Paris on July 21, Lollapalooza in Chicago on Aug. 1 and several more through late September.
The Strokes released the EP Future Present Past in 2016 and their last full-length album, Comedown Machine, came out in 2013, but they have not yet announced any plans for their next project.
