In what has become a heavy metal tradition for the San Francisco Giants, the members of Metallica came out in honor of the seventh annual "Metallica Night" at Oracle Park on Friday (April 26).

Ahead of the sold-out Giants versus New York Yankees game, Metallica's James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett stepped onto the field for a rockin' instrumental of "The Star-Spangled Banner," while drummer Lars Ulrich threw out the first pitch. The Bay Area natives also helped announce both teams' starting lineup.

The black and orange, Giants-themed guitars used to play the National Anthem were autographed by each Metallica member and raffled off for charity, according the Blabbermouth

“We’re blessed to be doing this every year and being a part of the vibe here,” Hetfield said. “You know, when times are good, when times are bad, they need the support.”
