After having an inflamed and infected gallbladder removed during an emergency room visit Friday night, Schon tells fans he's grateful for their kind wishes and says he's recovering well.

Schon is scheduled to go on tour later this month for Neal Schon's Journey Through Time, but the 64-year-old assured fans via Twitter that he's expected to make a full recovery and "can't wait to hit the stage."

Schon plans to return to his roots for the tour, showcasing songs from the very beginning and paying tribute to classic hits. "We're really going to play anything that's in our repertoire -- anything that Journey has recorded," Schon said in a statement. "I plan on mixing it up a lot and not playing the same set. Stuff from our first three records -- we're going to update that a little bit -- and have some fun jamming!"
