Tim Showalter, known as Strand of Oaks, announced a new album titled Eraserland and dropped the vulnerable new track "Weird Ways" today (Jan. 15). Showalter also announced the schedule for his North American tour, kicking off in April.

"Weird Ways" is about finally reaching a moment of clarity after a rough period. "I don't feel it anymore," Showalter sings, bringing gut-punching honesty to the track as he confesses that he "dug too deep." Still, the people who love him in his life where able to bring him into the light.

The accompanying visual shows Showalter in a recording studio with friends, alluding to the real process of creating the theraputic record.

The single will appear on Showalter's upcoming album Eraserland, which he worked on with My Morning Jacket members Carl Broemel, Bo Koster, Patrick Hallahan and Tom Blnkenship.

"When I was writing these songs, every day I would walk on the beach and I was completely alone and overwhelmed by fear," Showalter said in a press release of the LP. "But then I realized how there really aren’t any rules for who you are, who you’ll become, or who you think you need to be. Eraserland is just that. It’s death to ego, and rebirth to anything or anyone you want to be."

"This project seemed to just fall together naturally,” added Broemel, the guitarist for My Morning Jacket. “I felt drawn to Tim’s positive energy and his albums...I threw it out there that I’d be happy to help in any way I could with the record."
