Def Leppard, Janet Jackson, The Zombies & More React to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2019 inductees on Thursday (Dec. 13), revealing that The Cure, Def Leppard, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music and The Zombies will be honored at the Hall of Fame ceremonies on March 29 in New York City. The music legends were quick to react to the news.

“I know it’s fashionable in some circles to say, ‘I don’t mind whether I get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or not, but that is not how I’ve ever felt,” shared The Zombies co-founder Rod Argent via Instagram. “When we were first nominated, that felt like a huge honor in its own right. And this time to turn the corner and get inducted, feels fantastic … I’m just so delighted.”

Def Leppard shared some love for fans in a video of their own: “Never, ever, ever underestimate us. Guys — girls — everybody — thank you so much for voting for us for the 2019 nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We are now inductees. We will be there in March because you voted for us.”

Janet Jackson posted, “We did it u guys… Thank U for all your love and support,” while Phil Manzanera (the most recent lead guitarist of Roxy Music) wrote, “Christmas has come early for the band… Cheers for that!”

The Zombies are 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees! • “I know it’s fashionable in some circles to say, ‘I don’t mind whether I get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or not, but that is not how I’ve ever felt. I’ve tried to be fairly philosophical about it and tell myself that if we don’t get inducted, it’s just a bit of fun. Don’t take it too seriously. But of course when you’re actually inducted, everything changes. You think, ‘This is a career-defining [and] life-defining moment.'” - Colin
