Kid Rock speaks onstage during the 2017 CMT Music Awards at the Music City Center on June 6, 2017 in Nashville, Tenn.

The rocker said he was inspired by Tyler Perry's similar generosity.

Kid Rock shared the holiday spirit by paying off a number of layaway accounts at a Nashville Walmart, the rocker recently announced.

Inspired by similar actions of filmmaker Tyler Perry, Rock (born Robert James Ritchie) paid $81,000 to clear 350 layaway accounts, Tom Meyer, the manager of the store, told WBIR on Saturday.

Rock also tweeted about it, thanking Perry for the idea.

Perry recently announced he paid about $434,000 to clear the accounts at two Georga Walmarts.

“I have paid for all of your layaways for Christmas. So Merry Christmas to everybody,” he said in part in a video he posted to social media. “You got to go into the Walmart, get your layaway and pay a penny, one penny, and you get your layaway. I know it’s hard times and a lot of people are struggling. I’m just really really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this. So, God bless you. Go get your stuff.”
