The National got animated for Thanksgiving. The band kept up their long association with Fox's animated series Bob's Burgers by offering up one of their signature morose ballads, "Save The Turkey," which comes complete with an animated video in which the group is crammed into a car with a forlorn-looking turkey they're trying to keep from getting stuffed.

This year's edition -- previous National Thanksgiving tracks tied to the show include "Gravy Boat," "Kill the Turkey" and "Give it to Teddy" -- was inspired by the show's recent Thanksgiving episode, "Cranberry Sauce," in which Bob simply wouldn't settle for canned cranberry sauce. "We're honored to continue our Thanksgiving tradition with Bob's Burgers with 'Save the Bird,' which was recorded at Public Hi-Fi in Austin and in my secluded dojo in Los Angeles," singer Matt Berninger said in a statement. "It's especially thrilling to have our brass section finally get credit for something. Also, I'd like to thank Tom for doing the dishes."

Spoiler alert: the bird gets pardoned.
