Panic! at the Disco: How Well Do You Know Their Lyrics?

How well do you know the words to some of Panic! at the Disco’s biggest songs? Billboard’s Jake Cornell hit New York City’s Times Square to find out how many people could finish the hits when it comes to the musical musings of Brendon Urie.

When one group of girls who are seemingly unfamiliar with the band are asked to play, they note that the name sounds like “Panda at the Disco,” while another group of participants kindly volunteer to deck Cornell out in an emo look by drawing on some eyeliner on his eyes for him.

When it comes to the song “High Hopes,” several people are asked to complete the line, “Didn’t know how but I always had a feeling.” The correct answer would be “I was gonna be that one in a million,” but one participant suggests the creative reply, “I was gonna wake up/ My head started spinning/ Then I went back to sleep/ And then I woke up grinning.”

“I Write Sins Not Tragedies” follows, and contestants fare relatively well, with one of them even noting that he recently used a line from the song as an Instagram caption.

People are also given lyrics from “Say Amen (Saturday Night),” including the line “I pray for the wicked on the weekend/ Mama, can I get another amen?” When asked what follows “Mama,” responses include “Mama say a prayer for me, too,” “Mama can I call you?” and “Mama can I go outside?.”
