Just in time for Tuesday's midterm elections, Twiddle frontman Mihali Savoulidis is releasing the animated music video for his politically charged new single "Fading State," featuring Nahko and Trevor Hall and produced by Johnny Cosmic of Stick Figure, exclusively on Billboard.

"Fading State" is the first single set to appear on Savoulidis' upcoming solo album, with the release date yet to be announced. The video follows the singer as an animated stick figure pleading with government officials to save the planet from the harmful effects of climate change. The singer takes a more cheerful approach to tackling serious issues with the reggae elements in the song. Savoudilis also preaches that kindness and love can cure the ills of today's society through optimistic lyrics like "when the darkness comes we'll have our love lights blazing, our kindness raging in every single nation."

"The climate crisis that’s happening on our beautiful planet is getting worse and worse every year," Savoulidis tells Billboard of the song. "With each passing year, the issue is continuously met with opposition motivated by greed. It’s up to all of us as individuals to do what we can to educate ourselves about what’s going on and to do our part to make a positive change in the world. With our current political climate, I think now is the perfect time for this single to be released."

He also revealed the excitement for finally releasing solo music. "On any days that [Twiddle] had off, I was able to find some time to write and record," he says. "This song truly felt like the spark that ignited this whole project for me. I can’t wait to share the rest of the music with everybody."

The Jersey-based artist is going on a Northeast U.S. solo tour beginning Dec. 5 in New York and wrapping up Dec. 15 in Holyoke, Mass.
