In signature Tenacious D fashion, Jack Black and Kyle Gass took over the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage on Friday (Nov. 1) for a glorious sunset performance of their track "Colors" that was both rocking and profane.

Digging into the anthem from their brand-new album/YouTube series Post Apocalypto, the comedy rock duo delivered their traditional tongue-in-cheek urgency, as the pink and purple sunset beautifully painted the Los Angeles sky.

With a simultaneously soft and deep vocal delivery, Black bellowed lyrics about the earth crumbling juxtaposed with a chorus offering some hope as Gass finger-picked an acoustic guitar. "Look at our oceans, the whales have gone away/ Corporations run amok/ Look at our planet, now just shades of grey/ No one seems to give a fuck," Black rumbled. "And colors are the thing that make the world better/ I've been seeing things in black and white/ If we work together we can live forever/ If we do it right tonight."

Showing their classic rock versatility, Gass alternated between his acoustic and the flute as Black enhanced the performance with his trademarked whistling and over-the-top dance moves.
