Slipknot Return With Head-Banging Single, 'All Out Life': Listen

Nearly four years following the release of .5: The Gray Chapter -- an album that topped the Billboard 200 -- Slipknot is back with new single "All Out Life," available now on all streaming platforms.

The masked metal rockers pick up right where they left off on the new track, providing almost six minutes of unrelenting, head-banging thunder that's sure to blow out speakers from coast-to-coast. As frontman Corey Taylor explains, staying with the same sound that endeared the band to fans is nothing to fear.

" 'All Out Life' is a song that is trying to do two things: bring everyone together, but also remind everyone that the past is not something to be discarded with disdain," Taylor says in a statement about the song. "People are so eager to find the Next Big Thing sometimes that they shit all over the bands and artists that have come before, thus making the past feel disposable, like a dirty thing."

He continues: "Fuck that: why should we pay attention to your mediocre future when you can't be bothered to celebrate an amazing past? I'd rather listen to a guaranteed hit than a forced miss. 'All Out Life' is the anthem that reminds people that it's not the date on the music -- it's the staying power."

With the band going without a full-length project since its 2014 chart-topping effort, fans have been ready for new music from the Des Moines metal icons for some time now. According to Clown a.k.a. M. Shawn Crahan, the wait may be nearly over. "Right now is a very exciting time for Slipknot," he says in the statement. "We've been working on new music for the last two years, and 'All Out Life,' the song and the video, is just one of many concepts in the works. It's a fitting taste to get you to the next thing. Get ready for what's to come."

In addition to the release of new music, the band promoted the latest edition of its haunted house experience based on their spooky brand ahead of Halloween. The Slaughterhouse features "missing" posters of the band members, pig heads mounted on the walls, chained up zombies screaming, a blood-splattered bathroom and much more.
