The National, Tony Bennett, Jackson Browne, Kurt Vile & More Contribute to 'Songs for Swing Left' Compilation

Shane McCauley
The National

The album supports the effort to flip the U.S. House to blue in the Nov. 6 midterms.

With the Nov. 6 midterm elections less than two weeks away, the soundtrack to a potential blue wave that could flip the House of Republicans from red to blue has arrived with Songs for Swing Left.

The free compilation aims to raise funds and awareness for the Swing Left Campaign, which is encouraging voters in districts where 84 key seats are being contested to get involved. The record features a mix of fresh and previously released songs from the likes of Tony Bennett, Kurt Vile, Warpaint, The National's Matt Berninger with Blake Mills, Cass McCombs, Andrew Bird, Jim James, A. Savage and Fred Armisen's punk rock alter ego, Ian Rubbish.

Each artist intros their contribution with a reminder to fans to get and vote in the midterms on Nov. 6. You can download any of the tracks for free by providing your email address, at which point you'll be connected with other volunteers in your area who are working to win a race in a swing district.
