The duo teamed up on stage at Will Ferrell's charity event, "Best Night of Your Life."

Will Ferrell always knows exactly what the situation calls for. Supporting Chris Martin's set during his "Best Night of Your Life" charity event on Saturday (Oct. 6), Farrell joined the Coldplay front man for an impromptu solo on his iconic instrument of choice -- the cowbell.

Acting as host for his cancer benefit event in Los Angeles, Farrell recruited a star-studded line-up consisting of comedians and musicians for a good cause -- including such household names as Jimmy Kimmel, Jerry Seinfeld, James Corden, Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Martin and many more.

When Martin took the stage for an acoustic performance of Coldplay's iconic hit "Viva La Vida," Ferrell saw the opportunity of a lifetime to join the rock star and to once again show the world the power of the cowbell. The Coldplay vocalist couldn't hold his laughter once Ferrell rolled through ready to shine with his percussion pop-in.

Ferrell first made the cowbell a lead instrument back in April 2000 when the instant classic Saturday Night Live sketch "More Cowbell" aired as a parody of VH1's documentary series Behind the Music.
