Guster Debut Trippy New Video For 'Hard Times': Exclusive
Guster has returned with a new video for "Hard Times," premiering exclusively on Billboard today (Oct. 2).
Directed by Jon Danovic and produced by Leo Abrahams, the video's dreamlike vibe compliments the song's slower-paced rhythm. Viewers are privy to the intimate details of a woman's psychedelic trip to the carwash; the woman inside of the car appears uncomfortable, with her smudged makeup and pearl necklace, while muted colors and unfocused shots of the car-washing process further set a bizarre, trippy tone.
"What a cool, weird, totally appropriate take on the song -- you can always tell when things come from the heart, and this song, if nothing else, wears its heart on its sleeve," frontman Ryan Miller tells Billboard via email about Danovic's visual. "Jon totally finds the guts of the thing in a car wash, with a sad lady at the wheel. Who knew?" he adds.
