The SoCal band's fourth album is due out next month.
Hellogoodbye’s new album is the alt-pop band's first new music in five years, and they’re making it count.
S’Only Natural, out Oct. 5, is an all-out disco rager; we’re talking glitzy string sections and filthy runs up and down the bass fretboard. Bandleader Forrest Kline has named Chic and the Pointer Sisters as particular inspirations. These up-tempo inclinations are all over the tracks they’ve shared so far; on the brand new “Close” -- premiering exclusively today on Billboard -- we’re gifted a sultry slow jam.
“There is this placeless place,” Kline explains. “Two human bodies in tune, every advance anticipated, every retreat beckoning. I wanted for so long to bottle it up so I could go back there whenever I wanted.”
