Ohio State's marching band kicked off the first game of the football season on Saturday (Sept. 1) with a rocking nine-minute halftime tribute to Queen. The legendary band opened with Queen's iconic 1977 anthem, "We Will Rock You" while spelling out the group's name in giant letters, before expertly transitioning into "Fat Bottomed Girls".

The medley also included "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Bicycle Race," with the marching band forming the shape of two men riding on giant bikes, as well as images of late lead singer Freddie Mercury and guitarist Brian May. Concluding the performance with a rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody," the band unfurled a large Queen banner to top off a rousing mid-game break during a run-away win in which OSU crushed Oregon State 77-31.

May managed to view the performance on Tuesday (Sept. 4) and tweeted a message praising the OSU squad for their dedication and hard work.
