Arctic Monkeys perform on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on July 23, 2018.

English rock band Arctic Monkeys stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday night (July 23) to perform their song "The Ultracheese" and debut lead singer Alex Turner's new close-cropped hair do.

A picture of the singer performing on the night time talk show was tweeted on Monday (July 24) with the caption, " Woah, check out the haircut on Alex Turner. fans, what do you think??" The front man's signature flowing mane was replaced with a shaved head that took many by surprise.

The band performed a dramatic version of the final track from their latest album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, on the show. Although their appearance was shot in black and white, the band gave nothing short of a colorful and lively performance, heavy on moody lighting and lounge-y atmospherics. This all comes after the group released the video for the album's title track earlier in the day, a sci-fi, Kubrick-esque drama following Turner in the fictitious, spooky hotel.

Check out Arctic Monkeys' full performance and the music video for "Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino."
