Eisley Premieres Gorgeous, Stripped-Down 'Defeatist' Take From New Acoustic Album: Exclusive

Eisley

Veteran indie pop outfit Eisley released its fifth studio album I’m Only Dreaming last year on Equal Vision Records. Looking to give their most devout fans a new perspective of their latest batch of songs, Eisley is set to release a re-imagined version of the Will Yip-produced LP later this month.

I’m Only Dreaming of Days Long Past  features acoustic, stripped-down, and otherwise recreated portrayals of the eleven original tracks. Before its July 20 release (also on Equal Vision), Billboard is premiering the album’s reinvented second track, “Defeatist.” Once a chiming, electric guitar-led song, it’s been transposed into a delicate specter featuring just piano and frontwoman Sherri DuPree’s voice.

Previously, Eisley shared the new version of track three, “A Song For the Birds.” The whole album is available for pre-order here.
