Arcade Fire unveiled a quirky new animated video for “Chemistry” today (June 11). Directed by Ray Tintori, and animated by Starburns Industries (Rick & Morty), the visuals delightfully expand on the track’s theme of chemical attraction as it follows a dog and a cat who meet and fall in love.

“We’ve been big fans of Ray’s work since his early videos,” frontman Win Butler said in a statement. After trying to recruit him for a collaboration during The Suburbs era, Butler finally met up with Tintori in New Orleans during Mardi Gras this past year. “There is a playful, carnivalesque energy to the song; to capture that by filming literally during carnival felt right," he added.

The video follows a dog and cat who meet at a wedding reception (full of sharks) where the former is working as a caterer.  Once they discover their infatuation with each other, their love transcends them into space, where they come crashing back to Earth after destroying a space station and a nasty robot shark.

Arcade Fire is resuming their Everything Now tour tonight in the Netherlands and will conclude with the Life Is Beautiful Festival In Las Vegas on September 23.
