April 17 was the 20th anniversary of Linda's death.

Sir Paul McCartney’s Instagram page is filled with family photos, fan art, and his current moves on tour and in studio. On April 17, the 75-year-old legend took to the platform to share a picture of his first wife Linda on the 20th anniversary of her death. He accompanied the beautiful image with a short but sweet caption: "Remembering Linda with love today. Beautiful memories."

Paul and Linda’s love story is one for the history books: they were married (and inseparable) from 1969 until her death in 1998, after a three-year battle with breast cancer. Following the dissolution of The Beatles in 1970, they were also a rock power couple as founding members of the chart-topping band Wings

McCartney often shares tributes to his loved ones: he previously saluted former Beatle George Harrison on Instagram for what would have been Harrison's 75th birthday, and honored John Lennon during March for Our Lives. In 2011, McCartney also gave his blessing to a Nashville charity concert and album for cancer research, in memory of Linda.
