Americana rock fivesome Red Wanting Blue unveil the first cut off their forthcoming album The Wanting, titled "Ulysses," premiering on Billboard today (Feb. 8). The Wanting marks the group's eleventh album, and is set to drop April 13.

On “Ulysses,” frontman Scott Terry’s voice is gravelly and deep, but is refreshingly paired with some airier background vocals and piano keys throughout, making for a straightforward rock tune. As he describes it, it’s “a dark horse love song. A primal heartbeat. An epic quest driven by romantic obsession.”

He continues on to talk about its place on the band’s upcoming album. "It feels right that “Ulysses” kicks off this record’s release. It has a pulse and hunger to it that captures our vision of The Wanting. The title of the album being drawn from the band’s name and life’s unrelenting desire to go further...along with the disbelief that all wilderness has been explored. It’s the emotional journey we take and the bouts of madness we weather to see it all with our own eyes. It is a record that could only be made by sharing the experience together, and it stands as our most collaborative album to date.”

The Columbus, Ohio natives will back the album with a tour starting in North Carolina in May and continuing across the U.S. until mid-summer. Tickets officially go on sale Feb.16, and full tour information can be found on Red Wanting Blue's official website
