(l-r) The Edge, Bono, Larry Mullen Jr., Adam Clayton of Musical Guest U2 performs "American Soul" in Studio 8H on Dec. 2, 2017.

U2 brought the music to the Saoirse Ronan-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live on Dec. 2.

The legendary rock group performed “American Soul” and “Get Out Of Your Own Way,” the two Kendrick Lamar collaborations from its new album, Songs of Experience. Unfortunately, Kendrick himself wasn’t there to join in.

Songs of Experience, U2’s 14th album, was released Friday. Frontman Bono has described the set as a collection of letters to his wife and children.
