The Eagles

In October 1976, Eagles played three nights at The Forum in Los Angeles several weeks before the December release of their now classic Hotel California album.

The momentous run included the first live performance of “New Kid in Town,” a future No. 1 single for the band on the Billboard Hot 100.

The track, written by Don Henley, J.D. Souther and Glenn Frey, who sings lead, is one of 10 live tunes from the three-night stand featured on Hotel California: 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition out Nov. 24.

“New Kid In Town” went on to win a Grammy for best vocal arrangement for two or more voices and it’s easy to hear why in this live version.

Listen here, premiering exclusively with Billboard:

The 2-CD/1 Blu-ray Audio set includes a newly remastered version of the original album and the 10 concert tracks. The accompanying  Blu-Ray audio disc features the 5.1 Surround Sound mix originally released on DVD-A in 2001.

The original album has sold more than 32 million copies globally and topped the Billboard 200 for 8 weeks.
