Billy Corgan, solo artist and frontman of iconic alt-rock act The Smashing Pumpkins, treated the crowd at his Friday night (Oct. 20) show in Toronto to an un-ironic cover of Miley Cyrus' Bangerz era smash "Wrecking Ball."

The singer, who is touring under his full name, William Patrick Corgan, is on the road supporting his recent solo release Ogilala.

Corgan praised Cyrus' talents in a recent interview. "She’s a better pop star than 99.99% of them," Corgan said while explaining his decision to turn down a recent opportunity to write for the "Wrecking Ball" singer.

Listen to the acoustic cover below, and catch Corgan on tour through Nov. 12.
