The clip guest stars Wells Adams of the 'Bachelor'/'Bachelorette' franchise.

This morning, we’ve got a candy-coated nugget coming straight from Nashville that sounds ready to squeeze in alongside Børns and the 1975 on your fall alt-pop playlists.

“Control” arrives from the infectious ensemble Daniel Ellsworth + the Great Lakes, ahead of their Chapter One EP, due winter 2018. It’s the latest sampling of a new project that’ll take the group through most of the coming calendar year, and it arrives through a music video with the charisma to match the track’s piercing guitar lines and bursting synths.

“We wanted to get a bunch of people together, have some drinks, and then let them dance and be weirdos,” Ellsworth tells Billboard of the Casey Pierce-directed clip. “This is a song for anyone who has ever been in love with a complete weirdo, the person in their own world dancing by themselves at the party. It’s about falling head over heels for someone who marches to the beat of their own drum and wanting to lose yourself completely with that person, never changing that person.”

The video follows actress Krystal Waters as she navigates Ellsworth’s get-together, alongside some special guest Nashvillians. Keep your eyes peeled for Wells Adams (of the Bachelorette/Bachelor franchise, who’s also a radio DJ in Nashville) and local musicians Ruby Amanfu, Kyle Andrews, and Humming House’s Justin Tam.

After “Control” is released on the Chapter One EP early next year, the band plans to follow with a Chapter Two EP in the spring, and finally, a full length album (its third overall) called Fashion in the fall. Check the band’s official site for more details.
